Word Chains ("the App") is a word puzzle game developed by Shane Maxfield. This privacy policy explains what information the App collects, how it uses that information, and your rights regarding your data.

Information We Collect

Word Chains does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information.

The App operates entirely on your device and does not connect to the internet or any external servers.

Data Stored on Your Device

The App stores the following data locally on your device only, using Apple's standard UserDefaults storage:

• Game progress – Your current puzzle state and word chain progress
• Puzzle queue – Pre-generated puzzles cached locally for faster loading
• Onboarding status – Whether you have completed the introductory tutorial

This data never leaves your device and is used solely to provide a seamless gameplay experience (e.g., resuming your puzzle where you left off).

Data We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, or any contact information
• We do not collect location data
• We do not use advertising or analytics SDKs
• We do not track you across other apps or websites
• We do not share any data with third parties

Third-Party Services

Word Chains does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or crash reporting services.

Children's Privacy

Word Chains is appropriate for all ages. The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Data Retention and Deletion

All game data is stored locally on your device. You can delete all App data at any time by uninstalling the App from your device.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
